Equipments
Microplate Shaker
We are equipped with a digital microplate shaker for 6 microtiter or Deepwell plates from 6 to 96 sample wells, with 300 µL to 3 mL working volumes adapted for strain screening, mutagenesis analysis and multiple parallel culture conditions monitoring (culture medium, induction, etc.).
Incubator Shaker
For culture in shake flasks, large capacity Innova 44 and refrigerated Innova 43R (Eppendorf) programmable incubator shakers that accommodate numerous culture flasks are available for culture volumes of 10 mL to 1 L and working temperatures from 4°C to 80 °C.
Fermentors
One Biostat B (Sartorius) (5 L), one BioFlo 3000 (New Brunswick Scientific) (10 L), two BioFlo 4500 (New Brunswick Scientific) (20 L Sterilisable-in-Place Fermentation System with Thermal Mass Flow Controller) and one BioFlo 5000 (New Brunswick Scientific) (80 L Sterilisable-in-Place Fermentation System ) are the major equipments for large volume and high cell density production.
Cell Haversting
To separate the cells from the culture medium we have two continuous centrifuges for large volumes (fom 10 to 1000 L), five batch centrifuges for volumes up to 1 L and one Sartoflow alpha Unit (Sartorius) for crossflow membrane filtration equipped with hollow fibres, micro- and ultra-filtration cassettes.
Cell Disruptor
Cell disruption is perfomed in our Emulsiflex C3 (Avestin) (7 mL to 300 mL) or our NS 1001L Panda 2K (GEA Process Engineering Division) (> 200 mL).
Protein Purification
The protein purification unit is equipped with one fully automated house made crossflow membrane filtration unit for ultra-filtration and diafiltration, three NGC Chromatography Systems from Bio-Rad, two ÄKTA Prime, one ÄKTA Purifier 100, one ÄKTA Explorer 100, one ÄKTA Explorer 10S 2D LC with an autosampler and a Frac 950 Collector (Deepwell, microtitre plates) for 2D chromatography from GE Healthcare and two Automatic Profinia Affinity Chromatography Protein Purification Systems from Bio-Rad.
